Giancarla Sambo is an entertainment and media law attorney and business affairs executive whose practice spans television, streaming, live events, and branded content, in English and in Spanish.
She has served as in-house counsel at Essence Communications and as Business Affairs Manager at The Washington Post. Before law, she built her career in front of the camera and behind the microphone: as a broadcast journalist, on-air talent, and pageant titleholder.
That background is not a biography. It is what makes her different at the negotiating table.
Giancarla Sambo, Esq., LL.M.
Giancarla's path to law ran through the airwaves. She began her media career at WSKQ-FM 97.9 La Mega, New York's leading Spanish-language radio station, as an assistant to the Programming Director, advancing through the morning show production team to fill-in traffic, then to full-time traffic at what today is known as Univision Radio, which led to a full-time career in news.
She represented her community as Miss Puerto Rico, National Puerto Rican Day Parade Queen, and placed in the top 10 at the Miss Puerto Rico Universe Competition. She went on to serve as Executive Director and President of the Miss Puerto Rico Scholarship Organization, overseeing franchise governance, broadcast partnerships, titleholder agreements, and nationally televised productions.
Those experiences taught her what a law degree alone cannot: how to read a room, how to represent a brand under public scrutiny, and what it feels like to be the talent whose name is on the contract.
